Holly Norris is a textile and artist and printmaker based on Portland, with exhibiting and studio space in the form of a hut on Portland Bill. Having trained as a doctor and continuing to work part-time as a GP, it is through art that she strives to achieve balance inher life. Working in a largely conceptual way, she finds the medium to best describe an idea, with most pieces evolving from her love of drawing. She studied for five years with Open College of the Arts on their Textile degree programme.
Holly is currently working on a collaborative project with Stephen Yates exploring the Jurassic Coast through mixed media, painting and ceramics. Her work is concerned with creating a sense of place, sometimes incorporating research into local customs and social history.
See the events page for details of upcoming exhibitions. Later in 2017, Stephen and Holly will be undertaking a 4 week artists in residence post in Australia.
